Standardised chemical pumps - overview
Classification
Standardised chemical pumps from STROBL Pumpen are horizontal, normal-priming centrifugal pumps, in accordance with EN ISO 2858; versions in accordance with API 610 are also possible.

Construction
The STROBL standardised chemical pumps are designed in block construction or basic column construction with coupling for horizontal installation.
The impellers are multi-vane with two cover disks. For difficult NPSH values, the pump can be combined with an inducer designed specifically for the application.
Connections via flanges EN1092-2 or ANSI B16.5

Functionality
Standardised chemical pumps from STROBL Pumpen draw in axially and convey the medium radially to the axially positioned discharge nozzle with a single-stage impeller.
The power transmission of the motor is via the pump shaft to the impeller.
Depending on the design, the pump head is sealed with single, double or cartridge mechanical seals; magnetic couplings are also possible.
The delivery pressure as well as the delivery rate are determined by the pump performance (pump characteristic curve), the impeller geometry, as well as the suction- and pressure-side pressure losses of the system. The delivery rate as well as the delivery pressure can also be varied by speed control or bypass solutions.

Applications
The main area of application for standard chemical pumps is the transfer of chemicals or chemically contaminated media in process plants. As a rule, these are transfer applications for pumping over or circulation lines.
Standardised chemical pumps from STROBL Pumpen are used in the following areas, for example:
- Chemical industry
- Petrochemistry (oil & gas)
- process plants
- Paint & lacquer industry
- recycling plants

Sealing technology
Sealing is done with suitable sealing materials (e.g. NBR, EPDM, PTFE or FKM), both on the static seals and on the mechanical seals. The sliding surfaces are made of carbon A or SiC (silicon carbide), depending on the design.
STROBL pumps are characterised in particular by the application-specific adapted sealing technology; special solutions for difficult media are also possible (e.g. solids-laden).
