Self-priming centrifugal pumps - overview

Classification

The pumps of the type SAP from STROBL Pumpen are horizontal, self-priming centrifugal pumps.

Construction

The self-priming STROBL centrifugal pumps are of close-coupled design, the motor shaft is also the pump shaft on which the impeller is mounted.

(Special designs with standard motor and shaft or flanged shaft).

The impeller chamber with its upwardly recessed suction connection forms a media reservoir.

Through internal backflow and a non-return flap at the suction connection, the machine is able to generate a suction effect.

When pumping media with fibres, it is possible to select a cutting unit in front of the pump.

Connections via pipe thread.

Sealing via mechanical seal.

Functionality

The self-priming centrifugal pumps from STROBL Pumpen draw in axially, above the pump shaft, and deliver the medium centrally to the axially positioned discharge connection with a single-stage impeller.

Power is transmitted from the motor shaft to the medium via the impeller mounted on it.

The pump head is sealed with a single-acting mechanical seal.

The delivery pressure as well as the delivery rate are determined by the pump performance (pump characteristic curve), the impeller geometry, as well as the suction- and pressure-side pressure losses of the system. The delivery rate as well as the delivery pressure can also be varied by speed control or bypass solutions.

Power range

Pressure: 0 to 80 m (0 to approx. 8 bar)

Flow rate: 0 to 95 m^3/h

Viscosity: up to 200 mPas

Temperature: 0 to 120 °C

Power: 0.55 to 11 kW

Solids content: up to 25

Solids size: depending on pump size (up to 50 mm)

Suction lift: 0 to 8 m

Applications

The main field of application for self-priming pumps is the pumping of clean or contaminated liquids.
liquids. Due to the large free passages and the variety of materials that can be used, even heavily solids-laden or aggressive media can be pumped. In addition, the self-priming behaviour of the pumps allows them to be placed on containers. This variability in installation is a great advantage, especially in confined spaces such as in machines and equipment or on ships.

Standardised chemical pumps from STROBL Pumpen are used, for example, in the following areas:

- Emptying of tanks

- plant engineering

- shipbuilding

- drainage

- water treatment

- Industry

Sealing technology

Sealing is done with suitable sealing materials (e.g. NBR, EPDM, PTFE or FKM), both on the static seals and on the mechanical seals. The sliding surfaces are made of carbon A or SiC (silicon carbide), depending on the design.

STROBL pumps are characterised in particular by their application-specific technology, which is selected in direct consultation with the user.

Materials

Cast iron, nodular cast iron, bronze, aluminium bronze, chilled cast iron, hardened steel, stainless steel (V4A), duplex, super duplex, super austenite
